DNP8020 DNP Practicum
Learners demonstrate synthesis of The Essentials of Doctoral Education for Advanced Nursing Practice, program coursework, and practicum experiences in a final project. Learners strengthen their writing and critical-thinking skills, assess and reflect on their own progress in relation to the program outcomes, integrate faculty and preceptor feedback, and synthesize these insights as inputs into the final DNP project. Learners also develop and maintain an electronic portfolio that includes coursework products, demonstrations of competency and outcome achievement, and practice experience documentation (number of hours, preceptor evaluations, achievement of objectives, and contributions to the organization). The practicum experience and associated courses provide the foundation and framework for the final DNP project. For DNP learners only. Department consent is required for registration.
