MHA5016 Introduction to Health Information Systems

Learners in this course develop the knowledge and skills needed to effectively use health information systems and technology in health care organizations and environments. Learners differentiate between administrative, clinical, management, and decision-support information technology tools; design and evaluate short-and long-term IT management projects; and analyze the budgetary and financial concerns associated with implementing IT management projects. Learners also demonstrate best practices and industry standards of health information systems management into professional practice, with an emphasis on effective staff management and organizational performance.
