HIM-FPX2670 Strategic Management of Health Information Systems
Students gain an overview of the health information management (HIM) field. Students describe the past and current state of the U.S. healthcare system, including healthcare reform, the Triple Aim, and market forces, which consist of technology, laws, quality, and patient safety. Students also discuss HIM careers in detail. Students examine HIM’s purpose, educational requirements, work settings, and relations with other healthcare workers. Lastly, students apply leadership and management theories to everyday events in the HIM field.
Students who have received credit for HIM-FPX4670 may not take HIM-FPX2670.
