SWK2200 History, Policy, and Practice of Social Welfare

Students in this course gain an understanding of the history of social work. Students investigate theoretical frameworks and generalist practice to understand domestic social policies and social welfare programs. Students build an understanding and competence in advocating, leading, and planning concerning issues of economic and human rights for children, youth, adults, families, communities, and organizations. For BSW students only. Cannot be fulfilled by transfer except by coursework from a CSWE-accredited program.
