SWK4020 Technology for Generalist Social Work Practice
Students gain an understanding of how technology transforms social work practice across micro, mezzo, and macro levels. Students explore digital equity, ethics, privacy, and the impact of emerging technologies on clients and communities. Topics include telehealth, data systems, algorithmic bias, online engagement, and policy development for ethical digital practice. With an emphasis on promoting inclusion, protecting client rights, and integrating technology responsibly in direct, organizational, and policy settings, students develop the skills to balance innovation with empathy and professional integrity in a rapidly evolving digital world. For BSW students only. Cannot be fulfilled by transfer or credit for prior learning.
