Learners gain an understanding of the uniqueness of the economics of healthcare. Learners examine the history of how healthcare is delivered and paid for and evaluate current trends in the healthcare industry such as changes in technology, legal and regulatory issues, and government policies. Learners also develop an understanding of the challenge of deciding the cost of care and providing high quality care as efficiently as possible.
