HIM2670 Strategic Management of Health Information Systems
Learners gain an overview of the health information management (HIM) field. Learners describe the past and current state of the U.S. healthcare system, including healthcare reform, the Triple Aim, and market forces, which consist of technology, laws, quality, and patient safety. Learners also discuss HIM careers in detail. Learners examine HIM’s purpose, educational requirements, work settings, and relations with other healthcare workers. Lastly, learners apply leadership and management theories to everyday events in the HIM field.
Learners who have received credit for HIM4670 may not take HIM2670.
