SWK2208 Introduction to Human Behavior and the Social Environment

Students analyze biological, psychological, and social development from infancy through adolescence, with an emphasis on major developmental theories (Erikson, Freud, Piaget, Vygotsky, Kohlberg, Bowlby, Bronfenbrenner, and Maslow); cultural influences; and systemic frameworks. Students engage with assessment tools (ACE, genograms); apply person-in-environment and culturally responsive approaches; and develop treatment plans addressing various social factors.
