SWK3208 Human Behavior and the Social Environment

Students analyze adult development across the lifespan—young, middle, and later adulthood—through a person-in-environment lens. Students explore biological, psychological, and sociological factors that shape human behavior, including health, identity, relationships, and aging. Topics include ecosystems theory, strengths-based perspectives, social work roles with adults, and conceptual frameworks such as Erikson, Maslow, and Levinson. Students apply theory to practice, assess family and organizational systems, and prepare for professional licensure. For BSW students only. Cannot be fulfilled by transfer or credit for prior learning.
