PSYC1540 Psychology in a Diverse World
Learners identify basic concepts of diversity within the scientific study of human thoughts and behavior. Learners gain an understanding of social and cultural differences as well as review tools for thinking about diversity within a psychological framework. Learners examine psychological theories and research related to gender, age, race, ethnicity, weight, and sexual orientation while exploring the effects of stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination. Learners further review methods of coping with social stigma and responding to inequities.
Learners who have received credit for PSYC3540 may not take PSYC1540.
