NURS3000 The Role of the Nurse

Students gain an introduction to nursing practice, focusing on the introduction and development of clinical skills, critical thinking, and application of nursing knowledge. Students engage in case studies, weekly discussions, and NCLEX-style questions to prepare for real-world nursing scenarios. The course integrates the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN)’s four spheres of care (Disease Prevention/Promotion of Health and Wellbeing, Chronic Disease Care, Regenerative or Restorative Care, and Hospice/Palliative/Supportive Care), ensuring a comprehensive approach to nursing education. For BSN (Prelicensure) students only. Cannot be fulfilled by transfer or credit for prior learning.
